Company
Enlyton was founded in 2004 by Drs. Edward Martin and Mark Arnold from The Ohio State University (OSU), Jeffrey Bergen, and patent attorneys Sandy Mueller and Jerry Smith. The founders of Enlyton have more than 30 years experience in basic and clinical research related to tumor markers and tumor metastasis. In 2007, Bergen joined the company full time as Chief Executive Officer. In 2007, a collaboration was established between Enlyton and OSU.
Enlyton has built upon Dr. Martin’s original innovative thinking in regards to antigen-directed targeting of cancer. The molecular targeting strategy envisioned by Enlyton is focused upon improving existing molecular imaging, enabling better detection of cancer during surgery, and providing a vehicle for targeted drug delivery.
Enlyton’s first product, ATA-1, couples an anti-TAG-72 humanized monoclonal antibody fragment with iodine-124 (124I) for use in PET/CT imaging of cancer.
Faculty members from The Ohio State University (OSU) Colleges of Medicine and Engineering are among Enlyton’s founders. An associated understanding with OSU’s Office of Technology Transfer has enabled Enlyton to forge a unique relationship with OSU, as well as The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, where portions of Enlyton’s pre-clinical laboratory experimentation and early stage clinical trial planning have been performed.
